Top -100 photos: Fire escape collapse

1. I chose this photo because it is so fascinating when a photographer is able to freeze time in a photograph and capture "floating" subjects. Although the photo is foreshadowing a horrible end, it is able to capture the last moments of what seems to be a mother and son. I don't know if it is staged, I hope it is otherwise the photographer is twisted and disgusting.
2. Stanley Forman was working for the Boston Herald American when he took this photo of Diana Bryant and her two-year-old god-daughter Tiare Jones falling from the fire escape. Forman did not realize the fire escape collapsed until after he took this photo, he said he looked away as they fell. Diana Bryant died and was able to cushion the fall for her god-daughter, saving her life. This photo was, ironically, life-saving; it made many towns and cities enact stricter fire-escape rules.
